Calamus essential oil has a refreshing effect on the brain. When used in a diffuser blend it can increase alertness, focus, and concentration. It is an overall tonic. I only recommend Calamus for use in a diffuser.

Calamus blends well with Clary Sage, Cedarwood, Lavender, Marjoram, Frankincense, Rosemary, Oregano, and Patchouli. Its aroma is described as light and slightly sweet.

This essential oil should never be taken internally and should not be used if you are pregnant or nursing. A high dose of Calamus may cause disorientation, hallucinations, or convulsions. Use with great care and keep out of reach of children at all times.
